Jinwan Kindergarten
Jinwan, Zhuhai, Guangdong, China
Year: 2021-2025
BUA: 6,400 m²
This project involved the design of an 18-class kindergarten within a 5,800 m² site designated for childcare and education, situated in a strategically accessible area at the intersection of Zhuhai Avenue and Airport North Road in Zhuhai, China. The site’s proximity to the Pearl River Delta Ring Expressway, which is under construction, and its adjacency to a large residential community highlighted the necessity of designing a safe, functional, and modern facility dedicated to early childhood education.
The kindergarten was positioned at the southwest corner of the broader residential development to maximize physical separation from vehicular traffic while ensuring seamless integration with the community. To ensure safety, the design prioritized pedestrian-vehicle separation: the main pedestrian entrance was strategically located on the west side of the site, while vehicle access was integrated into the underground ramp system on the south side, directing cars away from children’s activity zones and eliminating potential hazards. The above-ground building area spans 6,400 m² (with a FAR ≥ 0.94), complemented by a 3,500 m² underground level with over 65 parking spaces, aligning with local regulations and infrastructure demands.
